Starting Sept 1, 2024, the co-share amount for Samaritan Basic is dropping for $13,500 to $2,500. Combined with the $1500 personal responsibility per need for the Basic plan, the out of pocket maximum per need drops to $4000, which is a huge reduction. This is wonderful news!! I suspect this could cause some members to change to the Basic level as their out of pocket costs fall into more affordable ranges should something drastic happen.
Samaritan has a couple of other new features coming out this fall, too, including a new telemedicine option and an optional add-on package for short-term counseling and alternative medicine care. More details about these will be available in the membership dashboard as they become available. All of this is very exciting news for members and prospective members and I’m SO THANKFUL for the continuous effort by Samaritan’s leadership to listen to member needs and work to make our health sharing affordable and beneficial in these difficult health care times.
